What Makes Lithia Different
Quick answer: European settlers arrived in Lithia in the 1840s, and James Alderman established a ford across the Alafia River in 1848, later operating a substantial cattle ranching operation. Around 1900, lithium was discovered in the waters of a local spring — which is how the community got its name.
