A Mother-Son Plumbing Company Built on "Help Others"
Quick answer: EVERYDAYPLUMBER.com is a family-owned and operated Tampa Bay plumbing company founded in 2012 by Jacqueline "Jackie" Hamlin and her son Mike Haisten — and the same mother-and-son leadership team still runs it today, now backed by seventeen Tampa Bay plumbers and apprentices, six office staff, 2 dedicated department managers and a general manager, and a fleet of 20 vehicles.
We didn't start as a franchise handed down from a corporate office in another state. We started as two people who believed Tampa Bay homeowners deserved a plumber who treats every job like it's happening in their own house — and that belief is still the entire reason this company exists.
How a Master Plumber and Her Son Built a Tampa Bay Plumbing Company
Jackie Hamlin came to plumbing sideways. Long before she earned her own master plumber license, she spent years designing wells, pumps, and irrigation systems around Florida — work that gave her a deep, hands-on understanding of water systems most plumbers never get from a standard apprenticeship alone. Her son Mike Haisten came at it from the other direction: 20+ years in service and management at established Tampa firms, learning firsthand what a well-run service business looked like — and, just as importantly, what didn't work.
In 2012, the two of them decided to stop working for someone else's version of a plumbing company and build their own. EVERYDAYPLUMBER.com started with one licensed plumber, one van, and two office staff, operating out of a home office near Raymond James Stadium in Tampa — close enough to serve Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties without missing a call.
From One Van to a Fleet — How We've Grown Since 2012
- 1 licensed plumber
- 1 service van
- 2 office staff
- 17 Tampa Bay plumbers & apprentices
- 6 office staff
- 2 dedicated department managers and a general manager
- 20 vehicles fleet-wide
That growth wasn't bought with a marketing budget or a franchise fee — it came from Tampa Bay homeowners calling us back and telling their neighbors, one job at a time, until "over a thousand five-star Google reviews" stopped being a stretch goal and started being just true. It's also what let us grow into a full range of residential and commercial plumbing services instead of staying a one-truck operation.
What "Help Others" Means to Us Every Day
"Help Others" isn't a slogan we picked for a wall decal — it's the actual mission Jackie and Mike built this company around, and it applies to three groups equally: the customers whose homes we're in, the employees who wear our uniform, and the suppliers we do business with every day. All three get treated like family. That's also where our tagline comes from: "Any Day You Need Us, Every Day We're There!" — a promise about consistency, not the clock.
That same mission is why giving back to Tampa Bay isn't optional for us. EVERYDAYPLUMBER.com supports charities including the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Metropolitan Ministries, and the Police Athletic League of Tampa, among others. "I didn't like the way corporate America treated people, so I set out to build something better — a place where guys could take pride in their work and feel like they were part of something real. I've hired some of the smartest plumbers around, and I give them room to grow, lead, and build this company with me."
— Mike Haisten, Founder of EVERYDAYPLUMBER.com
