Two Counties in One: East vs. West Pasco
Quick answer: Southern Pasco is really two different plumbing markets stitched together. The eastern half — Wesley Chapel, Land O’Lakes, Trinity — is some of the newest housing stock in the Tampa Bay area, built from the mid-2000s to today inside master-planned communities, almost entirely PEX supply lines and slab-on-grade construction. Most calls here are fixture installs, tankless water heater conversions, and warranty-adjacent repairs, not emergency pipe failure.
The western half is a different story: New Port Richey, Port Richey, Holiday, and Elfers carry a much older Gulf-coast building stock, most of it from the 1960s through the 1980s. ZIP codes 34652–34656 (New Port Richey) and 34668, 34673 (Port Richey) still have a meaningful share of original galvanized supply lines and cast-iron drain lines — galvanized pipe corrodes from the inside out, which is why low water pressure and rust-colored water are two of the most common calls we get from this part of the county.
